Tiger aims for historic Grand Slam at US Masters 2008

With the US Masters 2008 due to start this Thursday, many pundits from the world of golf are predicting that Tiger Woods will not only win the tournament this year, but will also go on to become the first ever golfer to claim a grand slam of all four majors in a single season.

11/10 priced Tiger Woods currently ranks as the second most prolific US Masters winner in history, bested only by Jack Nicklaus, who claimed six US Masters titles during his career.

Golf experts agree that should Woods claim his fifth title at Augusta National Golf Club this weekend, he is likely to be unstoppable in the remaining three majors of the year.

Amongst the players backing Woods is British player Colin Montgomerie, who narrowly missed the cut and will now be watching the US Masters 2008 from the sidelines.

“This is the first time I believe anyone has ever had a fantastic opportunity to win all four Majors in the same year. And to win all four, you have to win the first one. And he will win the first one,” Montgomerie asserted emphatically.

Montgomerie missed the cut for the US Masters 2008 after falling below 50th position in the world rankings.
